Annual Update for ALL EIS families

Please be aware that ALL families in the EIS system need to complete the annual update, including families that turned in paper registration packets earlier this summer.   The annual update is an opportunity to make sure all information is accurate in Infinite Campus and the update will also include the completion of several of the yearly forms.

Make A Donation to Purchase Chromebooks EEF Logo

Virtual learning is a reality for Elizabethtown Independent School (EIS)’s 2,400+ students; however, access to adequate technology remains an issue. Ideally, EIS would be 1:1 – meaning each student in the district has an assigned Chromebook for day-to-day learning, assessments and communication.

A 1:1 district is even more important as we face educating our students in the midst of a pandemic. Elizabethtown Education Foundation (EEF), in conjunction with local non-profit organization, Give 270, will be raising funds to purchase the 150+ outstanding Chromebooks for EIS students.

Please consider supporting EIS students and their learning by making a tax-deductible donation below, you will support Elizabethtown Education Foundation and help purchase Chromebooks for Elizabethtown Independent School (EIS) students.

  • Forward this email to friends and family. Share the video about the effort. Tell everyone you know.
  • Encourage and thank an EIS teacher, administrator and staff member as they embark on the new school year.

National Beta Convention

The first trip to the Beta National Convention for Elizabethtown High School was a huge success.  Several national awards were won!

2019-2020 ExCEL Winner, Mrs. Michele Deon Michele Deon with Cheryl Williams from LG&E and KU

Michele Deon was honored and awarded the WHAS11/LG&E-KU 2019-2020 ExCEL Award on February 19, 2020.  Several dignitaries applauded her dedication and commitment to all students and her belief in their futures beyond EHS.  She and her husband selflessly donated $250 to each of the other nominated ExCEL teachers so they too can purchase instructional materials for their classrooms.  WHAS11/LG&E-KU donated $1000.00 to Mrs. Deon for her classroom needs. Congratulations Mrs. Deon for earning the title, ExCEL Teacher of the Year, 2019-2020.

About Us

The Glen Dale Center, located at 1030 Commerce Drive, is a residential facility providing services for teenage girls, ages 12 – 18. This facility is run by Sunrise Children's Services with educational services provided by the Elizabethtown School District. The Glen Dale Center serves up to 20 girls, many of whom have experienced placement disruption, school problems, family problems, neglect, or abuse. Residents receive opportunities to build self-esteem, confidence, and learn the skills to overcome the past. Educational services are provided by three dedicated and caring staff members of the Elizabethtown School District, Helen Wheatley, Paula Crabtree, and Cheryl Morris.
