Welcome to Elizabethtown Independent Schools and the 21/22 school year. I am honored to begin my second year in service as the EIS superintendent. I have served in education for 27 years with 21 of those being in the EIS district. My previous experiences include teacher, principal, and assistant superintendent.
As we begin the 21/22 school year, we do so among continuing challenges with the covid pandemic. However, if we learned anything about our Panther family last year, it was that we are flexible and resilient.
An additional lesson learned from last year’s experience is equally important. Not only are we a team who perseveres through hardship, but we are also one that makes it through with excellence!
Last year, we focused on the three words Change. Challenge. Opportunity. This year we will shift and anchor our mindset around “Excellence for Everyone.” Our mission to work to assist all students to achieve excellence in an equitable environment is the cornerstone that will lead the way.
The EIS faculty and staff members’ service to students will be centered around providing high quality teaching and learning experiences. Efforts will ensure that each student’s learning environment is safe, healthy, and academically excellent, while also paying special attention to social, emotional, and mental well being. In considering the last year’s experiences, we know that school life and student needs will continue to look in some way different from before.
Throughout the upcoming year, I ask that we all work together as a unified team with patience, cooperation, and understanding. Moving forward into our new normal will take all of Panther Nation, partnering as one, to build upon the district’s longstanding tradition of excellence.
Go Panthers!
